A smooth tapered glass tool for straightening the silk ribbon and thread when laying it down on the fabric in embroidery. Aids in manipulation of the ribbon, too (instead of using a pointed needle or your fingers.) It has a hole in one end for threading with yarn or ribbon and wearing around your neck whil stitching.
